This afternoon, I was reading a book in the doctor’s office when I was suddenly overcome with a sharp increase in awareness.

It caught me off guard, but I immediately noticed a dramatic sharpening in the colors around me. The room became brighter and more detailed. It was like the world was being Photoshopped. I glanced at my hands and instantly noticed the thousands of tiny creases and folds in my skin, and the contrasts in colors and shadows. The entire world glowed and glistened with beauty.

What a miracle this world is, I remember thinking. For those few seconds, I was truly present. I had a glimpse.

It happened again when I was driving home, and soon-after I recalled a Thich Nhat Hanh quote that I heard (and modified for a tweet) earlier this morning:

The Kingdom of God is available in the here and the now. The issue is that we are not available the Kingdom of God.

Isn’t it so wonderful to know that each of us can step into this world of infinite beauty at any moment - simply by becoming aware of it? It’s here, all around you. It’s waiting to be discovered.

This is a magnificent universe; I am so grateful to be a part of it.

What is up Mr Wavey? Get better xx

Beauty is in everything natural and everything human - even the flawed. Most of us are too busy to notice however.

    Take care x

Your awareness is refreshing. TNH is my very favorite teacher. Have (nearly) all his books. You are going to be fine, Davey, and the colonoscopy will give you peace of mind. It did for me. Love you my friend.

You never cease to amaze me, Davey. I can honestly say that you changed my life. And for the better, to boot! =)

But really. I agree with almost everything you say and do. I hope to be as loving, happy, and optimistic as you one day. Thank you.

    P.S.- I almost forgot… I LOVE YOU! haha =)

Pretty much nice post :) but I have to disagree on a smaller points of this theme, because I think that the Universe is not so totally shiny and happy etc. I hope you’re going to be alright :) all best,

    Purpose Of Life

Some of us live lives where we constantly are taking from others, leeching off the very essence of the good that flows from the hearts of those who give freely to those around them, while some live their lives in constant need; the need to have….the need to give…the need to feel needed…Some of our lives are mere extensions of other peoples dreams and aspirations, be it our will or not.

Many of us struggle and clamor about to find what our purpose is in life. Many try to define themselves in ways that best suit their current understanding of what purpose is…Be it to give freely to all those that come into our lives, Or to be the takers of the world, be it to be those that swindle and steal…the fact is, our purpose, or our so called reason for being is purely a reflection of our current mental state and is directly related to how we have been molded by our upbringing and environment.

Our purpose is what we make it to be. We choose our own reason for being, we define our own existence. Our actions, life experience and views of what we call life, all play into our own man made equation of purpose….each event adding its own variable in the formula that is set to give us the answer to what we constantly strive for. Ironically, no two answers will be the same due to the fact that no two people share the same mindset, beliefs or upbringing. We all have our own idea and interpretation of what our purpose should be. So remember, that each day we live, each breath we take is giving yield to the answer we seek….

Which is to live, just live. This is the purpose of our existence…to live our lives, experience what it has to give and go onto the next pane of existence when our time on this place is over.

God is separate from nothing, and nothing is separate from God.

There is nothing that God needs, because God is everything there is.

This is the good news. Everything else is an illusion.

I’ve had moments like that, but mostly mine come from just sitting outside. Once I had an amazing experience.

My class had been called outside to play a game of tag football and in order to get the ball (after it’d been dropped or passed off to a teacher) you had to answer a question, but if you’d gotten tagged or the question wrong you had to stop playing until the next question.

I had been tagged (I’m not a fast runner), and I was just sitting still, thinking and looking at nothing when two birds flew around me. The birds got extremly close too, one of the students on my team even stopped and stared as the birds flew three times around me extremly close and then arched off into the air. I’d been close enough that I could touch them if I had wanted. After that the day just seemed so much brighter.

Another time was when I was driving. It was early of the morning and I was on my way to school, I glance in my side view mirror as I climbed a hill and saw the rising sun over the top of the trees. The glaring orange and firece red in the sky just made my heart swell, its just little things like that, that can make life seem so much better.

    However, it can be troublesome
