Speaking of Gay People on TV…

Speaking of gay people on TV, check out this painful trailer for logo’s upcoming reality TV show, The A-List:

All I will say is this: Watching that trailer made me very thankful that I don’t share their perspective on life. I’ll leave it at that.

  1. Are you serious? All they know how to do is flaunt….. like, look at me.

  2. YES, LOGO SUCKS!!!

  3. That’s what LOGO is all about…. queens.

  4. Well some people, that are on the “Rich List” then they have to show it off, and keep up with the play, its not all fun and games, it can be a real job, but to step back and live life to the max, as you could die tomorrow, so look forward to all your todays..

  5. give that guy a month or so and his hair will be streaked.

  6. I find everyone and their attitudes in this trailer deeply unattractive. Different strokes for different folks, however: I wish them all happiness dating each other.

  7. It’s ok. There’s a place for “A-List NYC.” It’s good to know where the A-Listers are sequestered, and it’s easy to avoid them.

  8. Another reason to NOT watch TV.

  9. I wish you had indicated that this link was to Pariah Hilton’s blog. I am loathe to give her any traffic whatsoever.

  10. ‘A-List’…..please, think they meant anal. I am so happy being a normal ordinary gay Aussie guy.
I do hope that we will not have this inflicted upon us this summer, these gays give gays a really bad name.

  11. Where’s the Gong Show when we need it?

  12. If your not shallow why would you be there?

  13. SAD and I’ll just leave it at that

  14. I think that you probably deserve a lot of credit for the good character and relationships of your botfriends. It is very civil and encouraging to see your old boyfriend send your new boyfriend birthday wishes of love.

  15. Speaking of friends and love, there was no mention of respecting the other people on that ‘A’ list. There seems to be a trend of always wanting what’s hot and new, without taking what you already have, and helping it be hot and new.

I think the ‘A’ list is a victim of the disposable era that needs to adapt to recycling. I’d want a diamond in the rough, not going through the grinder.

  16. Getting back to your question the only non stereotypical gay men on tv that I can remember are the Dr. and Brian on Queer as Folk. So many years ago……

  17. I agree with Mike, here; there is a fine line between encouraging healthy fitness and stereotyping gays. When I hit the “share on facabook” link on this blog the options of pictures to accompany the forward were mostly feeding right into the stereotype. To a straight person receiving my forward Davey’s blog appears to be hypocritical. We are no all fit and beautiful like Davey. Don’t get me wrong, I love davey’s blogs and videos, but it shows up the paradox that is difficult to deal with.

  18. Does the “A” in A-list stand for asshole? I bet it does, cuz they all acted like A-holes.

I try to avoid stereotypes, but this is one crazy queen’s idea of gayness, kinda like RuPaul’s idea of what a woman is really like!

    So sad.

I like my man sweaty and hairy, not smelling from parfum. As for fashion, the sexiest is still nothing at all.

    Be well,

  19. SAAAAAAAAAAD ! scary…even though i don’t care and i am agrown ma and can choose not watching or having my opinion…it is a bit worring that young people or kids would eat that s**t and think that is real or desirable….and it is giving food to not so gay friendly people that want to stereotype gays…sad..we are living in the Paris Hilton era..what a crap..

  20. Losers

  21. Just think of it as like watching “My Super Sweet 16″. Remember to laugh *at* them, not with them.

  22. Being “in” is a commercial scam, using people’s social aspirations to get them to consume more. Many lemmings actually go for it.

  23. Nardo, don’t you mean Buffy, RuPaul;s drags & this s**t for more then half their programing!

  24. Davey doesn’t have control over the banners that show up over his site.

  25. Yuck-I thought West Hollywood attitudes were bad…this almost made me lose dinner. Are there really gays like that still around? Oy!

  26. If you don’t share their perspective, why allow elite.com to advertise on your site, with “Meet the rich” as their lure slogan. I would’ve thought that was beneath you, until now.

  27. Excuse me. It’s elitemeeting.com and their tawdry slogan is “Date the rich.”

  28. If you think that looks amazing, that must be an aspiration you have.
Life may, at some point, seem to be about “being on top”, and thus, about having “it all”; but it’s not. People get emptier and more dissatisfied the further along they trail down this road. There’s a lot of pretense and the “tops” end up adopting appearances in order to stay where they are, losing themselves in the process…

If you’re looking for anything with meaning, it’s probably as far from this as can be…

  29. …however not?
    Of course he does.

  30. Davey’s sold. At first he was just some cute guy sharing his views about the universe and what not (and walking around shirtless). Now he’s super commercial, selling his fitness and his so-called principles (“underwear yoga”, come on). Prancing around in his designer undies, being the “internet sensation” he is, he’s lost his authenticity and originality to give people “what they want” and keep the money rolling.
