Manifesting my dreams is one of my favorite pastimes. Over the last few years, I’ve boiled the process down to a few simple but powerful steps.
Before you get started, keep in mind that you’ll only be able to manifest those dreams that are aligned with the “desires” of the universe. Of course, the more conscious you become, the more likely it is that desires match those of the universe. If you’re unable to manifest your dreams, trust that there is something even more fantastic in store for you.
And that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
- Write down your desires. Most of us know what we don’t want, but rarely do we focus on the things we’d like to have or experience in our lives. Create a “dream list”.
- Visualize the fulfillment of your desires. Go through each item on your list and see yourself experiencing the manifestation of each dream. Taste, smell, feel, hear and see it. Make it as real as possible.
- Get really f*****g excited. Feel the excitement and energy build as you know that your dream is being manifested.
- Express gratitude. In many ways, your life is already a dream come true. Expressing gratitude and being thankful for your life helps keep you in an empowered state-of-mind.
- Seize opportunities. Making your dreams come true is about more than wishful thinking. Each day, be aware of the open doors around that may lead to the fulfillment of your desires. For example, one of my dreams it to travel to Australia. As such, when I heard about a contest to visit Australia for 6 months, I applied. I didn’t win. But at that time, I was aware that the contest might be the opportunity for which I had been waiting.
- Be patient. Trust that when the time is right, your dreams will come true if they are aligned with the universe. If you don’t know how to be patient, click here.
- Remember that you deserve it. As a child of the universe, no one deserves whatever it is that you want any more than you.
Following my own advice, here’s my current dream list:
- Spend one month traveling somewhere exciting this winter.
- Have the majority of my income come from advertising/workout videos/my blog.
- Visit Australia.
- Serve of the Board of Directors of a charity.
- Eat more sushi.
- Host a LIVE workshop to help people change their lives.
- Write a book.
What are your dreams? Take the first step by writing your “dream list” in the comments. I’ll give three lucky commentators my complete Lifework Workshop Series!

Davey. Thank you for sharing this. I want to make my dream list too. But i have a question. What if my dream is something long term? Like it cannot happen now. My dream is to have a son. I even already named him. Haha. But im still schooling now. & my education is still far from over. I know i will surely fulfil this dream one day. But should i continue to put it my current list?
Lovelove.

I heard once that a dream had to pass the ‘tear test’ to show true significance. Basically, if you can visualize a dream so passtionately that it brings tears to your eyes then you’ve found something worth striving for.
I’m a huge mama’s boy, so a lot of my dreams involve becoming wealthy so that I can give my mom the things that she’s doing without now. Of course, reality sets in, so I’ve narrowed my vision a bit.
My mom use to ride horses when she was young. When she married my dad she had to sell off most of her possessions, including her horses, in order to start her life with him.
Well, things didn’t go so great w/ their marriage. I’ve heard her express regret more than once over getting rid of her horses.
I pass the ‘tear test’ when I think of seeing my mother truly happy. I’d love to get her a horse. That’s one of my dreams; to see my mother happy.

Holy f**k! that was so sad! But I argee with the “tear test” and I personally have heard is before just I forgot where.

1. Become the magnet to bring my dysfunctional family as close as we were when I was a kid again.
2. Have the self-discipline to structure myself to do all the thing I plan and know I’m capable of.
3. As a pianist, to pull every ounce of emotion and expression in my body into my playing- to give my listeners a, truly, moving experience ( as music should be)
4. Learn Spanish, German, and continue to hone my French so that I can commuicate and give love to more people.
5. Make an impact on every single person I come in contact with- I want them to feel as incredibly beautiful and amazing as they are.
6. Most importantly, in the midst of all the planning and dreaming I do, I hope I am always growing and becoming more aware of what the universe says to me. I believe that I will have wealth, happiness, love, and success if I always put my faith in what I believe.

Your dreams are wonderful; so are the dreams of all the commenters.
As I traveled through life, I lived through all or most of this list many times over, only to have each career thwarted and curtailed for the simple crime of being gay. I started out anew, summoning up resources I had within me, and some I didn’t realize I had, and each time was a new adventure, a new opportunity to learn and experience life afresh and wonderful in ll its glory, challenges and disappointments.
Eventually I came to realize that the original career path I had chosen would have led to a boring and spirit-numbing life; that would have been true of any single one I embarked upon. Instead, I have had a richer and more varied life, I have accomplished many more things, and I have made a difference whatever I did. None of this has been easy, and often making the changes and adjustments required much courage, but I think I am a better person for having traveled through life in this way.

I like your comment Woody and I take my hat off to you for
your courage and perseverance!

I simply want to have a more positive outlook on life in general and I think that will in itself spread into everything I want to accomplish someday. The domino effect. I feel I have a tendency to sit back and critique how others run things and dont spend enough time doing it for myself. Hard habit to change.
June 28, 2009 at 5:24 pm
I saw you three times just during the weekend.
Friday saw you with a friend (?) and your dog, you were acrossing the street church/ Wellesley.
Saturday you were walking down on yonge street with another guy, taller than you, he stopped to talk with 2 girls. And today, I saw you again, some friends around you at church st.

Australia? That isn’t too far away from my country. Mind stopping by Malaysia?
June 29, 2009 at 1:35 am
I have a longterm goal that I will never give up on. My goal is to do something in the field of marine biology. Other goals include, but are not limited to:
1. Get a job in an Aquariam.
2. Move out and experience life on my own.
3. Learn Arabic and Spanish, Spanish being my heritage.
4. Keep in touch with the few great friends I have when I move away.
5. Help people understand more about the ocean
6. Get my most impressive thought processes out for others to start thinking on a deeper level.
7. Live life to the fullest.
I have many goals, and when I reach one, I fill it with another. Goals help me move forward, and I feel proud when I reach even the smallest of my goals.
June 29, 2009 at 1:40 am
I do not think I’ll ever be a non-material organized energy being. =(
That is my primary dream, so I could recreate life on a new planet(leaving Earth alone humans can $#@% up all they want), to allow the minor sensations of oneness with nature be full, to let life trive over industry, to be everlsting and powerful beyond measure.
But then I sink, for my dream is not viable in this time. It is physically impossible for me to even get close.
June 29, 2009 at 1:46 am
Davey, I won’t say I’ve watched ALL of your videos, or read ALL of your blogs, but I will say that I’ve found some very useful/helpful advise. I am so pleased that I’ve been able to find someone like you that actually cares, and really has an amazing outlook on life. Your such a great person. Thank you.
June 29, 2009 at 1:59 am
I must say, I agree with Anthony… You do have beuatiful eyes.
June 29, 2009 at 2:36 am
P.S. I suppose I should add at least one or two of my dreams… 1: to make my trip worth while. For all my hard work to pay off. To finally have someone Notice. (but of course you can make no sense of this.lol) 2: too explain my though processes; along with my thoughts; too someone who will actually understand the way my mind works. 3: to help the world in some influential way. To pay a tribute to global warming and save our planet… Plant a tree!!! 4: to travel the world!!! Italy being my #1 stop. Yay! 5: to do something amazazing. 6: to find my true place in this universe. 7: to try and understand it all. By it “all” I basically mean the universe. Why are we here? What is our purpose? (not to sound like I hate the world or anything like that… Besides, everything in this wonderful
Magical amazing world is beautiful. I love it!) {I suppose it would be appropriate to stop at seven… But yet I feel the need to provide 10.} 8: do more with my family. 9: take the money to invest into an even more “professional” grade camera. (shout-out to Canon Cameras: I love you!) 10: L-o-v-e.
June 29, 2009 at 3:09 am
Interesting list of steps. It reminds me a lot of “The Secret.” To be honest I don’t really think the best way of achieving one’s goals is to put a magical spin on everything that happens and hope for the best. The most important step you listed, by a long shot, is to watch for and seize opportunities.
June 29, 2009 at 7:10 am
Davey,
I keep telling you to start the “Chipotle Foundation” as a 501c3 non-profit, so those of us who can donate can also write off the donation on our taxes, and then you and Chipotle can use the foundation’s donations to underwrite charities, or help GLBT go to college or help homeless folks get back on their feet?
I love you Davey! joey

What advice can you give a person who has 2 years left to live?
June 30, 2009 at 12:38 am
I agree with how to achieve your goals, however I have added a date of when I expect to achieve my goals. Set a date to achieve your goals. If you don’t hit your target date, take a look at what you did and make adjustments and reset your goal date.

Love this. Another thing I have heard that could be useful is physically getting ready for whatever it is you are going to manifest…like for a new piano, you would find the perfect place for it and clear it out, keep it clean and be ready for it!
Thanks for these tips. I guess my dreams are surviving my senior year of high school and just enjoying the time I’ve got.
