I’m the only person in the entire world that hasn’t yet read Eat. Pray. Love., the book and now movie-gasm sweeping the nation. Being in the treehouse on a soul-finding adventure in New Hampshire’s largely untouched forests, I feel like I should be writing my own book: Eat. Blog. Be Naked.
Though we’re unlikely to see much nipple-slippage from Julia Roberts (who plays the main character, Liz Gilbert, in the new newly released movie), my book-to-movie version might be a little more revealing. For whatever reasons, something about nature inspires me to be naked.
Maybe being surrounded by so many trees has resonated with my primordial instincts. None of the creatures in my immediate environment are adorned with shirts or pants – and their nakedness strikes a chord with me. Maybe I too feel the call of the wild.
Or maybe I’m just an exhibitionist, and with so much seclusion, I can display myself without much risk. No judgment here; the trees are unmoved and the nature is generally un-phased. In the wild, the entanglement of nudity and sex is effortlessly un-spun. And few things are as pleasurable as letting the summer breeze tickle my testes.
Truth be told, I’ve never really been shy to let it all hang out – but I can’t help but think this is the way it was intended to be.

i didn’t read the book too…lol
August 21, 2010 at 2:06 pm
i agree. nature does inspire us to be open, and without barriers. i always get a rush by walking around naked in the woods, free from constriction.
August 21, 2010 at 2:14 pm
Well, then ….
You should definitely do a liveblog from Manhunts live video chats…..

I did not read the book, either. However, I too enjoy the joys of nature without the need to be clothed. To splash in the waves of the Atlantic and become one with the world God created, clothed as God created me, is truly a religious experience.

I haven’t read it, either. I don’t need an upper middle class white lady telling me life’s too short and that I should enjoy it now.
I’d prefer a hot young white guy tell me that, so get writing! And get naked!

One word, Davey: Photos!
August 21, 2010 at 4:17 pm
I have yet to read the book either.
There is something special about being naked though. I believe it is the complete freedom of being totally yourself, without any constraints or boundaries and just existing in a moment of undiminished abandonment.

I didn’t read the book, but the movie was fantastic. One of the few movies that had made me cry (while still making me laugh in most parts).
I wish everyone were naked. Not because I’m a horn dog (well… I kind of am, but that’s not the main reason :p), but because I really don’t get what the big deal is with nudity. I live in the Caribbean, so here we don’t really need protection from the cold (except maybe in the supermarket… *shivers*).

Davey, you are beautiful and definitely have the body to be a nudist. How much do you know about Taoism? I agree with a lot of the ideas.
Eat.Pray.Love. is not a book for everyone. I don’t think you NEED to read that book. I’m more inclined to believe you can surely write something more inspirational.
And one last thing, to all those perverts who keep insisting that Davey Wavey post nude blogs/pictures, you are all just undermining his intelligence and doing what a lot of heterosexual men do to women, objectifying him. Sure, it was good for a laugh at some point, but you are, at this time, failing to grasp the bigger picture. If he didn’t show you his doodle the first time you asked, he probably won’t do it now.
Sorry DW but I just had to say it. It’s getting old.
August 21, 2010 at 5:10 pm
I haven’t read the book either.
Davey if you want to be naked and free then do so. Just make sure you do it for you and not the hungry demands of others.
August 21, 2010 at 5:16 pm
I thought your parents were visiting this weekend. They don’t mind seeing you all nekkid
?

August 21, 2010 at 5:46 pm
yeah well you don’t want to be naked in the woods…. like, I mean the mosquitoes will just feast on you… and the ticks, and the leeches :p
August 21, 2010 at 7:05 pm
Davey, as much as you enjoy being sans clothing, I am not surprised to hear that you are going free in the wild, but it does inspire me to ask one question: are you having a problem with your neighbors seeing you naked or doing “personal” things like you did in Canada? Remember those days? Go for it buddy, have fun !!!
August 21, 2010 at 7:29 pm
In San Diego, where I live, theres a giant nudist beach called blacks. I love being nude (just yesterday I said “who needs clothes?”), and in solitude thats not a problem. But with other people…..thats different!
August 21, 2010 at 9:12 pm
yay i hope Davey Wavey the book is released, you are so inspiring!
August 21, 2010 at 9:17 pm
Try it for a day in the woods, then come back and let us know about the mosquitos. OK?

Here’s another word….TALKYBLOG!!!
August 22, 2010 at 12:46 am
I just started reading it last night. Bought the Kindle ebook version on my iPad. Could not resist because I have a love affair with Bali that started thirty years ago. That is where my Indonesian boyfriend lives and this November I will be back there for the 11th time, 10 of those visits being within the last four years. I love the place, people and culture and there is a thriving gay scene in Dhyana Pura Street in Seminyak, just north of Kuta.

You’re not the only one who’s not read the book or seen the movie. both look amazing. And you are right, there is something liberating about being naked out doors.
August 22, 2010 at 5:13 am
I haven’t read the book either, but I WOULD read your book. You should definitely consider writing one. Even an E-book would be great (getting it published can be hard)! I’d buy it! Thank you for taking me/us on your adventures & for your positive attitude.
August 22, 2010 at 8:41 am
Hi Davey:
I don’t think you need to read the book. Your honest, open, truthful nature, inspires me each day. I realize from reading your blog (especially today) just how much we are all the same. Whenever I go camping in the Red River Gorge, I feel an urge to be naked and I have an increased sexual awareness??? I always thought it was just me – go figure??? LOL!
Enjoy your adventure in the great outdoors! Getting back to nature certainly centers the “self” with the universe! OH, what a feeling!!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!

If God had intended us to wear clothes we’d be born with a lifetime of stylish wardrobe!
August 22, 2010 at 9:26 am
I’ve not read it either, but I live, eat, blog and sometimes prey – and some times I do do it all naked!
August 22, 2010 at 10:25 am
I haven’t read the book yet. Davey, I’m glad that you are comfortable with your body and love being in your own skin. I’m working on my own self comfort… getting better as I continue to mould it into a work of art. Lots of hard work but so worth it at the end. Enjoy your blogs!
August 22, 2010 at 10:32 am
Hi Davey – only just discovered your blog and subscribed – plenty of wisdom in what you say. It`s funny `cos the idea of going naked on a nudist beach or even in my own garden kind of scares me, but I always sleep nude – feel constricted if I`m wearing something under the covers. Strange, eh? Maybe it`s my own hang-ups … or maybe it`s just the British climate!
Have fun – but watch out for the mosquitos!
August 22, 2010 at 10:34 am
Dear Davey Wavey,
Shame on you flaunting your nakedness in front of all the flora and fauna! If God had meant for us to be wandering around naked we would have been born that way! Wait a minute, we were… Never mind.
As you were,

I love to go about buck-naked at home. For now, though, I have a roomer, so I can’t do that so much. I have a birth-trauma after-effect condition where I have sensitive spots that hate the touch of clothing. I think, though, that I would like buck-nakedness anyway.

I feel the same about our very human nature. We weren’t born with clothes, and neither are other animals. LOL. That’s not to say that i’d go bucked ass naked out in public, although for a worthy cause, I suppose that if it were a nessecssity, I’d bare all after getting in touch with my inner Lady Godiva.
Nakey time with davey wavey. Good times
August 22, 2010 at 3:25 pm
I haven’t read the book nor seen the movie but there are so many of both that its hard to keep up. Its good that there is something for everyone, regardless of taste or interest.
As for nakedness, I sleep in the nude mostly, especially in the summer (no a/c). Being nude in the wilds sounds great except for the mosquitos that someone mentioned and up here in Canada we also have black flies in places as well but in the right setting it sounds like a great idea. In the winter though it would perhaps be a role in the snow and then back into the hot tub or sauna! It can get rather nippy otherwise.
Love your posts and even pass some links on to my bf. Take care, Davey!

What you’ve not read the book, well then you can add me to the growing list of those who’ve not done so either. From a personal note having grown up on a farm in the summers, I know the joy of swimming and lying around naked and how great the water and sun feels on ones body. I’m a part time nudist, work does require clothes and some years back found out it’s natural for me. My parents too were part time nudist enjoying the company of others while undressed. I’ve even hosted a Hawaii themed party in the middle of winter. It’s great to be at a party nude and believe me, it’s so true clothes do make the man. Without them, every little thing you may think a flaw has no where to hide. Being nude is all about body acceptance and when at a nude function after a few minutes of looking at everyone, you forget you are naked and just have a great time getting to know the real person. Try it sometime!

There is a spiritual side to it, a concept and mind-action process that is not the same as body nakedness. Why do some experiences of environment bring out this side of existence? Why does modern society generally not facilitate the experience of such environments for most people?
August 22, 2010 at 11:05 pm
I’ve always wondered if you like to be naked when no one’s around… You’re not a exhibitionist are you? You’re a nudist right? Either way, I’d like to pre-order my copy of Eat. Blog. Be Naked.

Note to Universe: If I die before the end of the month, and there is reincarnation. Let me come back as a squirrel with a nest close to a treehouse in the remote wilderness of New Hampshire…. Thats one set of nuts I’d definitely keep an eye on. ;OP

Not true. I’ve not read this novel either…. And whose scrotum doesn’t love the free breeze? Cheers. randy

Loved all the comments and I to have been to several nude resorts and beaches. Highly recommend the people are much more friendly when they do not wear clothes.
