They may be all natural, but my tits are anything but real.
Living in Australia, land of the muscle men, it’s really easy to get caught up in all things physical. My gym, for example, looks like an audition for the next Falcon Studios porno flick.
On Sunday, I’m getting photographed for and editorial in one of Australia’s “f*g mags”. I’ll be in some state of undress, and I can see how easy it might be to become identified with this bag of bones, flesh and muscle that my spirit temporarily occupies. But I am not my body.
Many years ago, Deepak Chopra taught me (through his novel, Book of Secrets – if my memory serves me) that nothing real dies. If it dies, it’s not real. Our bodies certainly die; therefore, they are not real.
Just because our bodies (and all things physical) aren’t “real”, it doesn’t follow that we should neglect them. Real or not, our bodies are the vehicle through which we experience the world and learn about the things that ARE real. Like love. So, it’s important to keep these vehicles well oiled and functional (this is why I’m such a fitness enthusiast).
Just because our bodies are illusions, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy them; I plan on celebrating my body every step of the way. And thankfully, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the bodies of others.
We can appreciate the physical world for all that is is – and all that it isn’t.

nothing dies it changes what u say
January 25, 2010 at 3:32 pm
I don’t believe in that quote: “nothing real dies”.
Our body does not die. It only changes form and returns to the earth to become something new. I believe that what we consider “soul” is a consequence of our body’s existance, and therefor, when our body goes back to the earth, that all of us does, to change and become something new.
Just a different perspective to ponder.

Well said! And the way we see something does change with how we feel. How we feel about our selves, if we are sick or healthy, how we view another, if we are happy or sad.
There have been days with completely opposite self image thoughts. I looked in the mirror and thought I looked absolutely amazing, for maybe the first time. An maybe an hour later, I was in a different mood, very sad and depressed. When I looked at myself I looked horrible. It was strange. Thus all truly is an illusion! Our bodies constantly change due to quantum physics. And the way we perceive them is subjective to how we feel and how we think.

Death is real as is birth and change.

*** Random Question ***
Does anyone know what happened to Davey Wavey’s hotline for leaving voice messages? (It’s 1-401-441-6663)
It says it’s not a working number or something like that… It used to work fine??? =P

Our bodies flesh made die but our spirit lives forever. Your words are eloquent as always, Davey.

You must be an old recycled soul`who is back to clear the air, Davey. I appreciate your healthy attitude towards sex, relationships, & religion. Now that I found your site, I plan to read it as an everyday “pep pill.”
Enjoy your photo shoot (A young Gary Cooper once said the secret to photogeneity is allowing yourself to be photographed from any angle & remain confident.) Have fun!

Mmm nicely put Davey wavey but you’re forgetting something really important…. Following the law of conservation of mass and energy, our bodies don’t properly die but transform into something else. You can bury a dead body, and watch a much greener patch of grass grow on top of it. Or plant a tree with a dead body. Sounds weird and inhumane I know but that’s what I want done with my body when I die.. I want a tree planted with me, no coffin or anything at all.

I want to be cremated and my ashes unceremoniously dumped off the Huntigton Beach pier from the cardboard box they give you when your too cheap to buy an urn. This is How Matt Gunther the porn star went AKA Coco when in drag (pretty convincing actually I was sworn to secrecy about it , now you know.

Morning,
Glad you are enjoying Sydney. I lived there for a while in 1997 and still miss it!
Here is my favorite quote (actually got it tattoed on my leg)
“Enjoy your body, use it everyway you can. Don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, its the greatest instrument you will ever own!”

I’ve come back to my hometown and I thought that I was stronger. People watch you when you walk on the streets, I don’t like it. It costs 70 dollars per bottle of alcohol. I’ve lived in a larger community and now it’s hard to relate to ‘natives’ here. I thought I was stronger. it’s hard to be myself here. people get mad easily. I’m trying to connect with people.I’ve told myself that it makes me stronger and now I know there Are no limits to what makes people happy. Thanks for setting the tone,
Brucep

Cheers~
January 22, 2010 at 11:30 am
D’accord!
I never thought I’d say this, but at a ripe old age, you, Davey Wavey are inciting an interest in working on my bod!!
In the meantime, I too want to see the upcoming article!!
Do enjoy your final days in Sidney! I’ve lost track of your re-arrival in NE. But Monday would be a good day for it. It has been between 10-20 F at night recently. But on Monday we are supposed to get 55 F in Boston.
Have safe flights!
January 22, 2010 at 12:33 pm
Change your ticket! Stay! Winter is still here and only likely to get worse before it gets better, in spite of next week’s warm spell. At the very least hit New Zealand, Tahiti and Hawaii on your way home. Then stop off in L.A. or S.F. for a while. No need to rush home. It will still be there.
If you can’t prolong summer down under, have a great flight. Smile nicely, bat those eyes and at least get bumped up to biz or 1st!
January 22, 2010 at 12:35 pm
….maybe someone from Qantas, Air New Zealand or United is a fan and reads your blog! ( hint hint airlines)
January 22, 2010 at 3:36 pm
If he visits New Zealand he’d better bring a rain coat and some boots. We are having our summer storms at the moment.
January 22, 2010 at 9:44 pm

January 22, 2010 at 11:31 pm

January 23, 2010 at 12:57 am
Davey Wavey, your tits are awesome..Any guy would be Lucky to nibble on them or touch em”.. your awesome…
January 23, 2010 at 2:39 am
I’m a big fan of spirituality myself, and I used to look down on working on the body because I was too busy looking ONLY at the spirit, and not the vehicle that it inhabits. You gotta take care of that too! So now I take care of this vehicle, and I grew to understand something. “It’s not so much WHAT you do, as much as why you’re doing it.”
Am I working out because I don’t want people to make fun of my thin body or I think if I don’t have muscles, I’m worthless and no one would want me? OR, do I work out because this is the vehicle I use to express in this plane, and I love it and don’t want it to fall prey to sickness and disease, so I take care of it? Intention is what makes all the difference between a happy fit person and a miserable fit person!

bla bla bla…such a p***y!
January 23, 2010 at 5:46 pm
I believe love as just as real as a blade of grass or our own bodies. I do not understand Deepaks rationale here. We are not illusions, the only illusions are those that we create within our mind. I also believe our bodies don’t ‘die’ as such, but transform. While we may move on from our current bodies our bodies nourish the earth and create more life. Just like a blade of grass decomposes. To me that is not dying but a transformation.

what so ever you are taught about the body is reality, here i want to say that everlasting is soul and body and soul have deep relation.Good mental health always promotes one towards good deeds that enriches the soul.
May 10, 2010 at 1:07 am
Nothing is real in this worlds including our bodies but real are the values that these bodies display named as character. It does not mean, we should not care our physical fitness, our physical fitness is might and main to build our character.

Every one knows the reality about the physical looks. This life is with these looks but to establish moral aspect its temporary nature should always be in mind
