I love spontaneity. Being spontaneous is like dropping a bomb on your life that shatters the shackles of routines and sends the ghosts of relived yesterdays running for the hills.
On Wednesday night, I was feeling stagnant. My energy was low and stale, and I remembered something that Oprah mentioned on her farewell show earlier that day. She said, “Take responsibility for the energy that you bring into the room.” I needed a change in energy and I knew just how to do it: By being spontaneous.
I conferred with the boyfriend (who is visiting me in Rhode Island for a few weeks), and spent a few minutes on Google. I found a cheap but sleep-able hotel in Provincetown, Massachusetts and called in a reservation. The following morning, we packed our bags and headed out to the tip of Cape Cod for a 24-hour adventure in the gay mecca that is Provincetown.
It was fun, unpredictable and a welcomed change of pace. We ate, walked around, met some charming people, ate some more and washed it all down with some fudge.
And really, it was really just what I needed; the trip helped breathe some new energy into my being. I had taken responsibility for my energy and made the adjustments that it necessitated. Thanks, Oprah.

Provincetown is really a great place to re-energize or to wind down, whichever you need. It is a beautiful town full of quaint little shops and a walk is always rewarded with lots of scenery.
I’m dying to go back soon.

Indeed. We all responsible for own energy, and it feels great when we do something good with, even more so when we include others into that possitive energy.
I’ve spent time in Provincetown, and it’s a great place to restore our souls. The peace, beauty and the nonjudgmental place, makes it into a safe heaven.
What better place to enjoy life and restore your spirit?
Glad you enjoyed it.

May 28, 2011 at 9:20 am
Oh, I see you’re wearing your “c********r suit … (shorts)” Sophie’s Choice, I think… that was my first thought when I saw the shorts (happens everytime I see seersucker, it’s a good thing. Then I noticed the comment from a buddy in Oxford… hummmmm.

oh, they took out the word that made it all work! I guess you can’t say that word on the blog because they will accuse you of being dirty, sorry.

Spent some of the best days of my life in P-town,……and a few of the worst. Same guy was involved in both. Great place to relax, reflect and have a gay old time!

Because everyone can afford to drop everything and move to London for a couple of days.
A little jealous is all I have to say.
May 28, 2011 at 1:43 pm
I also have to thank Oprah for having the courage to fund schooling in the midst of the budget cuts, and helped me focus on her act while she was being attacked by jealous local poor folk.
I realized that giving thanks to people who show courage, and doing what it takes to make their own lives easier and more enjoyable is great for an example of how to live, by doing, not saying you can’t or shouldn’t. I’m sure that funding schools in Africa helps her sleep with herself.
It also helps me say thank you to people who show courage in their own lives. Thank you Davey Wavey, for having a larger back yard than just the street you grew up on.
Cheers and Peace!
Vance.

Who does the censuring of the no-no words?
It it DW’s price to pay for being in a US blogosphere? How adolescent. f**k, piss, s**t and corruption! (See which one gets in.)

Hi to Davey…and to fellow followers, I have to report my partner and I were
just in P’town for the week, walking down Commercial. My love-y turns to me and says I think that’s DaveyWavey. Well, blown me down – it WAS! Of course,
I could not resist yelling out “DaveyWavey”!
We spent a few minutes in conversation, AND actually got to see and shake
the hand of the elusive BOYFRIEND!!!
Davey – You and boyfriend are very cute and we loved you flashing those
pearly white teeth! We’re not stalkers, but meeting you made my day, especially
after we both check you out daily on our iPads over breakfast. Too bad you had so much clothing on—– boo-hoo!
May 28, 2011 at 3:10 pm
Funny! But true.

Davey, think what you could do for tourism if you simply announced IN ADVANCE where you are going on these weekend jaunts! You could probably get free rent! Dozens of BlogBuddies would come from around the world!
May 28, 2011 at 3:21 pm
Davey actually seemed almost shy in meeting.
Maybe we scared him!
