I love what I do. But probably not for the obvious reasons… Check out the quick video that I recorded on my second YouTube channel, Davey Wavey Raw.

Thank you for sharing this e-mail with us. It is important for people (especially teens) everywhere to understand they are not alone. Now, if there were some way they could connect with each other thru the internet…..
Hugs to Jordan and others feeling the same way.

This is important work you are doing, and even the problems you had in school were a training ground for it. If you had not been bullied (and become a better person because of it), you would not be able to provide quality advice now.
I believe everything which happens to us has a reason we will draw upon later. Because this young person has gone thru this now, he/she will be better able to relate to other young people in similar situations. (Perhaps as a counselor or youth worker.)

I watched this twice.

I feel that I either would have killed myself or faked my sexuality for my entire life if I had not found davey wavey. I’m coming out tomorrow y’all!
April 9, 2011 at 3:49 pm
yeah. That’s some powerful stuff. I wished I had seen all of Davey’s stuff a lot sooner. It was hard growing up and feeling all this and thinking that you’re alone.
But I roughed through it by learning it the hard way. It’s great to see that Davey can reach out to those who need the help.

Yeah Davey Wavey when I decided to acknowledge my bisexuality and immerse myself in gay culture, I stumbled upon you. It was awesome and I still really enjoy all your posts and your rants and raves. You are an inspiration.

Anytime that the actions you take and the support you give can make a life-altering, positive affect on the life of another human being… That is a good thing. Thanks for sharing.

Davey, I kinda feel the same way as this e-mailer. I am a 17 year old gay boy who is still struggling to find himself. I really appreciate all your videos and blog posts. They have more of an impact on peoples’ lives than you can probably imagine.

I think that the more we all openly talk about things the easier things will become. I’m older, a wife and mother and not had some of the negative things that others who post here have had happen to me but I still am learning and can appreciate DaveyWavy’s comments and views. I hope you are able to reach out and help more people in the world!

Wow…… No offense whatsoever, but I knew the term ‘gay’ in 3rd grade, but I didn’t know there were gay people, and I was one of them. I went to catholic school, so they taught homosexuals, bisexuals, pansexuals, and transgender and transvestite went to hell and were branded for life and to not even look at them

Also, thank u SO much. You have helped out of a huge deppresion about myself. You told me to know who I was and age dosent matter. I’m a 7th grader and I thought I was WAYYYY too young to acknowledege who I was. You said u figured it out in 6th grade so while I don’t have enough courage to come out, I have the courage to accept my feelingS. Peace out

I will add that your being here has renewed my hopes for the future. As an older gay I see around me so much commercialization of who and what we are supposed to be. We are often seen as just another market to be exploited, whether for wedding planners and florists or customers for the designer clothing we all Must wear to be gay in the eyes of others, or even to the fitness craze that puts body first before heart. This blog-space reveals that we are so, so much more than that. We are real human beings with compassion for one another and deep need to be free from our own chains of fear of rejection or worse, violence from others or to ourselves. We get into spats at times over our egos mostly, but we come back to see what’s being said here again and again, even to add our own 2 cents from time to time. I no longer feel that the up-coming generation, whether X, Y, or Z, is a gang of “kids” who have no idea about the effort needed to be truly free. You have shown that compassion is just as important as passion and sex. Gay Pride is real. And it does Get Better, even for us queer geezers.
Be well,

That is huge! You helped someone, now he knows it does get better. That is amazing, truly.

Good luck – only you will know when it’s a good time. Let us know how it goes.
April 10, 2011 at 11:04 am
It would be great if we bump into each other.
April 10, 2011 at 3:29 pm
Davey, i came out this year and i am in 8th grade and there are those people out there who absolutely hate gay people and i discovered your videos and it helped me a lot. I was suicidal and didnt know where to turn i feel i cant tell my parents because they dont like gays either. You helped me through that horrible time, thank you!

Your support is needed in California! A proposal called Senate Bill 48 is making it’s way through the government that would require social studies teachers to teach about the contributions of LGBT people in school. That way kids would be learning about LGBTQ people before the 6th grade in public schools in CAlifornia. At the bottom of this email is a link to Equality California for info about it. GSA is supporting this legislation too. Are you a Californian? No matter what your age is, you and your friends can you write a letter of support for the Fair Education Act, SB 48, to your representatives in Sacramento asking for them to support it.

I am a sophomore in high school and I am gay. I know how hard it can being gay in high school. I have been openly gay since 6th grade. High school is much much better than middle school was, then again I live in Atlanta and everyone is very accepting around here. So I just wanted to say it gets better and be your self!! I am here if you need anyone your age to talk to
