Google+ is Google’s answer to Facebook. Actually, it’s a lot like Facebook – except that it makes it easy to organize your connections into different groups of people (called circles). You can share different information with the different circles in the same way that you might sharing something with your friends that you don’t want your coworkers to see. I’m into it.

The coolest feature is called hangouts. If you open a hangout, a message gets sent to whichever circle or circles of contacts you select – and people can stop in via webcam to chat. Up to 10 people can hang out at once, and the platform switches the main camera view to the person speaking. It’s really cool, and I’ve had a lot of fun using hangouts to meet blog buddies. Moving forward, I’m definitely going to be doing more hangouts – which are really virtual blog buddy meet-ups. I love it.
