I’m one of those irritating early risers. Christmas morning is no exception. In a few hours, the rest of my family will wake up, stumble out of bed and join me.
Anyway, I wanted to take a few moments to say “Merry Christmas” and wish you the best – if this is a holiday that you and your family celebrate. I’m not big on organized religion and I’m certainly not big on Christianity, but there is something about Christmas that is so magical and delightful. Once you get past the glitter and glitz, it’s a beautiful holiday.
So, wherever you are, and whatever you believe, Merry Christmas!
And PS, I really meant what I wrote in my anti-monogamy rant. It wasn’t a joke.
PSS Will is coming over tonight for his Christmas present. What do you think I got him for Christmas?

Merry Christmas to you as well. And since you are up early, why don’t you check your charity badge? You might find something there…

Happy Holidays to you, Dave and Will, and to each of your family.
With Dave’s sense of humour, and kind heart but positive attitude. It will be a mixed gift with a book of positive thinking, and a gag gift as the side gift.
Just your friendship alone shared by both of you is amazing enough as a gift for everyone.
Again Happy Holidays to both of you.

Merry Christmas ! Dave, like you I don’t like organized religion or what American commercialism has made of this holiday. However, I do find it magical and a time for healing , in spite of this aspect. Dave , you don’t have to be apologetic about your rant; we are all on a journey and our feelings may or maynot change as we grow ( as I’ve said in my previous entry). It’s 5:30am in LA; so I guess I’m one of those annoying early risers too ! Once again, blog buddies and you, Dave, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !

Happy Holidays!
Make a talky blog in which Will opens his gift and then you banter back and forth. Do you think Will will bring you a gift as well?
I’m betting you purchased a table top fire place for him! Actually, it would create ambience and he could remove his shirt!
Or perhaps you got him a TLC Tugger?

Christmas is about Christ… not what you get from family…. Like it or not Dave… One day we will all stand before God and answer for what we have done… I hope that you are ready for that… Merry CHRISTmas!

Dave – Happy Yuletide!!
Hope yours has been filled with love, joy and good feelings!
What you got Will for his present – my guess is that you probably got him more than one – something intimate and personal for one and another “jokey” one which you’ll share with us on the talkey blog!
Whatever it/they are, given the dynamic between you two, I’m sure he’ll both like and appreciate it as you will his gift to you.
As for Patrick’s remarks (comment no. 19) maybe he should lighten up and enjoy the season in a more relaxed fashion – but apart from that, he should maybe check out the history of this festival we’re celebrating now, during which he will find that this celebration actually originates in pagan ceremonies; particularly those of Geol, the name of the pre-Christian solstice festival from which the current English word ‘Yule’ is derived and the earlier ‘Saturnalian’ traditions of the Romans which were transferred to the “Twelve Days of Christmas”. So, relatively speaking, CHRISTmas is only a “Johnny-come-lately” in terms of festivals at this time of the year.
Whatever their origins, they brighten up this oft, dull time of the year and we should enjoy them in a spirit of goodwill, harmony and charity.
Peace out my friend,
Best wishes to you and Will,
Love and light to all
Scotty.

Is Will’s present something you made yourself? Maybe a painting or a cute T-shirt with a special message? You seem to make a lot effort and put a lot of thought in your gifts, so I’d imagine it would be something extra special.
December 25, 2007 at 8:02 pm
Oh, and like some of the other blog buddies, I also think that you should open your christmas presents with Will in your next talky blog.
December 25, 2007 at 8:29 pm

December 25, 2007 at 11:26 pm
Happy Holiday Dave! Although I personally don’t share your views on Christ, those that do believe in Christ should be more Christian like; loving, understanding and accepting. You bring smiles and warmth to the world with very little negativity. If everyone were like you, we would enjoy a lot more peace in the world.
Have a great day!
—and for Will… hmmmmm, perhaps a key to your condo, your heart, and your silky underwear.

Davey/Will
1st, Merry Christmas to you both as well. It’s late now and my whole day was great, having spent it with family. The gift exchanging resulted in some good stuff, but the best part is being with family, some of which I only see once a year because they travel from far away. We shared allot of stories about way-back-when, going all the way back to the 1960′s and The Beatles. I hope your holiday was just as bright, because it seems to go by at the snap of a finger doesn’t it? And after all the work you put into it. Ok, your present to Will….
Since you both like to do the Gym, I’m thinking you managed to obtain a Wii. Something the two of you can do together and have a blast with (and maybe do a talky blog on). Will’s gift to you, since you like to eat allot, some Kansas City Strip Steaks, a fancy bottle of red wine, a new set of cereal bowls (and a Patridge in a pear tree…..) and perhaps even something hand-made. Enjoy!

Happy Holidays to you Davey! And to Will of course!
No need for gifts for you guys have each other’s friendship and nothing can top that anyway.
Thanks for posting your thoughts this past year. Food for thought. And at times very inspiring aswell. Keep up the good work .
Big hug & kisses from Holland!
