Finding out what is right with me.

Tomorrow, I’m heading to the doctor to find out what’s right with me.

There’s a temptation to use the phrase what’s wrong with me, but it strikes me as inaccurate because I know that my path is my path. Whatever bumps or obstacles or detours that I encounter exist as opportunities for me to learn and grow.

My path is perfect, and there is no gap between how today is and how today should be.

I promised to keep you up-to-date. Tomorrow, I’m going to be meeting with a doctor for my pre-colonoscopy consultation. In another week or two, I’ll be getting a colonoscopy so that the doctors can identify whatever it is. As I mentioned before, there’s a possibility that it is colon cancer – and so I have been mentally preparing myself for that prospect.

In the meantime, I feel perfectly fine. In fact, I broke a personal record on the treadmill today (4 miles in 25 minutes and 28 seconds). I am completely comfortable and have no discomfort in my body.

I have made the choice to perceive this medical expedition as an adventure – perhaps even a treasure hunt! I don’t know what will come around the corner or the next bend in the river, but I have high hopes of finding something of great value on this odyssey.

And so, fellow adventurers, onward we march!

  1. I’m not sure what drugs they give you during colonoscopies in the USA but I know what they use in Australia…

… and let me tell you. Midazolam is a helluva drug. You won’t be completely knocked out, but you’ll be doped up like it’s nobody’s business! Oh, and as a bonus, it usually prevents the formation of memory of the events for which you receive it, so if you’re worried you’ll have a negative experience, you won’t remember any of it!

    Holla!

  2. “I have made the choice to perceive this medical expedition as an adventure – perhaps even a treasure hunt!”

Nah…leave the treasure hunting to your proctologist.

  3. Good luck Davey!
With your attitude to live, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

  4. Your in my prayers tonight. Your gonna be fine! Happy Thanksgiving!
