Free at last, free at last. Lord almighty, I’m free at last. Another month, another moving day. Today I make the not-so-long trip across Rhode Island from my parents’ house to my condo.
I’m grateful for the time I’ve spent with my family over the past five weeks. I know that I won’t always have my parents – and that I should cherish the precious time we share together. But, it’s not always easy to be in that mindset with my mom’s perpetual nagging or my dad’s eccentricities.
At any rate, I’m ready for the change. And while I keep my mind focused on the present, I can’t help but dream about my winter and summer travel plans. Belize? I don’t know. Australia? It seems so extravagant. Maybe my aunt’s beach house in the outer banks of North Carolina? Maybe Toronto again in the summer? So many possibilities. I’ll let the chips falls as they may.
This morning, I once again find myself packing my life into two tattered suitcases. The zippers are jammed and the wheels are broken from overuse. But the journey continues.
And as I begin yet another new chapter, I’m thankful to have you to share in it. Stay tuned.

I think I speak for everyone when I say this, we are grateful that you’ve let us in to your life to be able to follow this journey.
Thank you!

I second that. Everyday I enjoy reading about Davey Wavey’s life,
and look forward to sharing it in my own way. As for where you
should go next in your adventure, I think a good trip Down Under is
called for. I’m sure you have many Aussie fans, I know i’m one.
Anyway, whereever you go i’m sure you’ll be very happy and might
be time for some new suitcases.
Thanks for your inspiration Davey!

November 26, 2008 at 10:31 am
Yes you do. There are few nice spots in Czech republic too, Davey

I spent a month on walk-a-bout. It wasn’t too extravagant. And since you can work from anywhere, you’ll find a way to make it work. For now, enjoy your condo and the town that you chose to call your home base. I too want to thank you for letting us all share in your experiences and encouraging us to be the best that we can.
November 26, 2008 at 10:12 am
I too am thankful that you allow us to share in your life, each of us in our own lil way. As for your travel plans, I wouldn’t go too far away from Mr. Dynamo if I were you.

Hi Davey:
Who will look after Chipolte if you travel to one of these ‘exotic’ places?
November 26, 2008 at 11:50 am

November 26, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Phew!!! I was starting to wonder how much you and Nick would “enjoy” his upcoming visit while staying at your parents’ house!
November 26, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Congratulations, Wavey! My parents used to say “We’re glad to see you coming, and we’re glad to see you going.” Be sure to do a video blog of your house warming party. … Definitely Australia, if you can swing it.

In the words of “Barney” on a certain show I have come to love over the last few weeks,
“Daddy’s Home…”
Glad you’re back Davey!

Davey, you may want to check out what is going on in Australia and factor it into your travel plans considerations.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/10/17/australia_cyber_safety_no_opt_out/
This blog just might be ‘filtered’ there, soon!
November 27, 2008 at 1:46 am
As an Australian lawyer I wouldn’t worry too much about that filter – it can’t get through the Australian Parliament and even if it did it is only going to block child pornography.

OBX sounds good…I am going down Friday
November 26, 2008 at 3:23 pm
Amazing that you get to go to those places. I can’t imagine it. I find it unbelievable that people actually can go to those places and do that stuff. But, there must be or the travel agencies would go under.
One good thing about not having the money do that is you don’t have the headache of making up your mind on where to go.
November 26, 2008 at 4:50 pm

Davey, You should def come to NC. I have lived here all my life and have been lucky enough to travel to the beaches quite often. I must say the outer banks reconnects me to nature and calms my mind. You should come to NC and experience its true magic.
December 1, 2008 at 1:25 am
Come to North Carolina – its nice.
I’m actually moving to Wilmington, NC soon with my brother. It’s such a relaxing place.
