Because I’ve received many emails asking about my health, I wanted to follow up with another update.
Last week, I went in for my pre-colonoscopy consultation. My colonoscopy is scheduled for Monday, and as such, I will have to abstain from solid fluids starting Sunday morning. For someone that eats as much as I do, this will be no small feat!
I’m actually excited for the fast. I’ve never fasted, and have always been quite curious about it. With my intense workout schedule, fasting has never made sense from a performance perspective – so this will be a new experience for me. I’m looking forward to a day of jello and cranberry juice.
The possibility of colon cancer still lingers, though it is just one of many possible diagnoses. Luckily, the colonoscopy will help the doctors identify my ailment and figure out the best path for treatment. This path may or may not interfere with my trip to Australia, but I am going to move forward as planned. Besides, I’ve already purchased my tickets and lodging.
In the meantime, I want to thank you for your support, good energy and thoughts.

good luck! hope everything goes great. Lots of happy thoughts winging your way
November 28, 2009 at 8:04 pm
Good Luck! Stay positive, I know you will!
November 29, 2009 at 6:00 pm
Staying positive wll do no good – it hurts and you can’t avoid that. Lots pf anaesthetic. If they say yiu don’t need it create a fuss. I woke up half way thru and they gave me enough to knock a horse out! Coward yes – lover of pain No.
November 29, 2009 at 6:14 pm
Clivey, not sure where you had yours, but normally they are always given under sedation. The first time I had one, I did emerge in the middle, but I was still sedated enough that it didn’t hurt. They noticed and gave me more Versed. They made a note in my file, and when I went back a few years later they gave me a higher dose right off the bat.
I never had any pain afterwards, even when they removed some (fortunately benign) polyps. The main problem after the procedure is that the doctor comes in and tells you what he’s found or done, and a few hours later you have completely forgotten because the sedative creates a short-term memory problem. So whoever goes with you (they will require someone you know to accompany you), tell that person in advance to take notes of what the doctor will say for you.
Good luck — the procedure should not be a problem at all, the main thing is what will they find, and if they do find something they don’t like, what treatment will you have to follow.
November 29, 2009 at 8:05 pm
I’ve had my share of colonoscopys. The last doctor said afte inquiring when I last had on
e I didn’t remember “You wouldn’t have, nor the drive home by someone else.’ I’ll check your medical records for your last proceedure for the date.

November 28, 2009 at 10:32 pm
Thanks for the update, Davey. We have all learned from you that no matter what the results, you will take it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Thanks for setting such a great example for us to follow.
November 28, 2009 at 10:40 pm
Wishing you the best Davey! Keep on with your positivity and you’ll come out on top, no matter the diagnosis. Much love.

Surrounding you with love. Envision a brilliant and amazing 2010 full of good health and prosperity.
November 28, 2009 at 11:07 pm
For you Dave:
I am now surrounding you with light and love. You have a beautiful rainbow sphere of light encapsulating and penetrating every fiber of your body. The atoms in each of your cells
gradually spin into alignment, linking you with your divine essence and the universe. May you feel peace and comfort knowing
that angels and ascended masters sit at your sides and hold your soul sacred while you sleep during your procedure.
November 28, 2009 at 11:33 pm
you have overcome fear – but trepidation of the unknown lingers. prepared for death – but the desire to cling to this dimension impedes its arrival. deeper introspection from this has allowed a stronger connection to your higher consciousness. all will be well and your light burns brighter because of it.
November 28, 2009 at 11:34 pm
Get well soon Davey Wavey! I think I had a similar experience six months ago, and the diagnosis is fine actually. Just some minor scars on the colon walls, but hey, we have to extra conscious on what we eat.
And after that diagnosis, I stopped eating meat, for six months until now.
November 29, 2009 at 1:17 am
Good luck Davey!
November 29, 2009 at 3:15 am
Peace and blessings. I’m holding you in my thoughts and prayers. Whatever happens, the anticipation of the outcome is likely far more worrisome than the outcome itself.
November 29, 2009 at 3:45 am
Like everyone here, Davey, i Love
You “So-Very-Muchy!!” And i know, as do we-all, that God “has it all under His control.” Nothing but “Continued-Best-Wishes” for you, Davey. P & L, _ _ davvi

I wish you all the luck
and I just want to remind you that whatever comes out of everything will be the best thing for you at the moment, because life actually gives us things that are best for us at the moment and in the future of our evolving… all best, and my thoughts are with you, M.
November 29, 2009 at 5:33 am
Sending good thoughts your way. All the best for Monday.
November 29, 2009 at 7:12 am
I wish you well. I’m actually facing the same thing with a colonoscopy scheduled for Thursday. The difference is that I am a cancer survivor, at least so far I am. The mere mention of the word “cancer” is frightening no matter how remote the possibility. My heart goes out to you. Be strong. You will be OK.
P.S. The Go Litely is far worse than the colonoscopy!
November 29, 2009 at 7:53 pm
Ah yes. The Go Lightly. And pork is the other white meat.
November 29, 2009 at 7:16 am
Good luck Davey. We are all pulling for you buddy.
November 29, 2009 at 7:56 am
You are surrounded by the love of us all Davey – all will be well – don’t worry (that’s more directed to us your fans as you are evidently not worried!
You might want to rethink your diet – especially as all meat in the US is full of hormones and anti-biotics – and Monsanto is busy poisoning eveyone with tainted milk – and 90% of US grain is now GM which is proven carcinogenic (but Monsanto owns the FDA now so all is hushed up!) – sorry everyone for the rant but you all need to be aware!
Try to eat good Bio foods.
Peace and love!
November 29, 2009 at 7:50 pm
Yes Ian it’s all true. Is truth defined as a rant?
November 29, 2009 at 8:15 am
I hope nevertheless you’ll spend a quiet Sunday at home and don’t worry for the rest ; all will be alright! Me, I will go and take a walk this afternoon because yesterday it rained a lot !

November 29, 2009 at 10:09 am
GOOD LUCK!!!!! My prayers and love go out to you and your family. I work in the health care setting so the best is to find soon ans treat it even sooner and outcomes are usually a positive one. Much Love.
Rob
November 29, 2009 at 10:23 am
What Rob said, but I don’t work in health-care, just follow what my doctor says about exercise in moderation and being self aware.
Cheers! and again, I’m glad you’re being pro-active about this instead of “if I ignore it, it’ll go away.” with your attitude.
Vance.
November 29, 2009 at 10:26 am
Thank you for posting the update.
Interesting tidbit: I refer to you as my “internet boyfriend” and my partner where I heard a quote I had posted on facebook and twitter this morning. I said that I got it from you in one of your tweets. So he asked me how is Davey doing with his health. I wasn’t sure I hadn’t heard about about anything since your last visit.
You are a major part of our lives. We ask each other about your health and hope for the best. Isn’t that awesome how we have managed to connect with you? I am sure this happens with thousands and thousands of others around the world.
I hope this blesses you. You bring so many blessings to us and others.
November 29, 2009 at 10:51 am
You’ll be asleep and/or numb for 99% of the procedure.
Try being awake while they remove polups (that wasn’t fun, at all).
November 29, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Glad I escaped that one… near thing – could happen yet.
I didn’t find the injections for the piles any fun either.
“Can you feel that! they said amazed.
I felt like thumping them and asking if they felt that.
The piles op wads no trouble3 at all and I avoided it for years.
I hope I never have to go thru another colonoscopy.
I had the funnel up the bum white fluid xray job the next time.
That was easy.
Lets hope he is OK.
I wouldn’t swap places.
Very unlikely that it is cancer.
Better to catch it early if it is.
November 29, 2009 at 11:04 am
Good luck, Davey! I had a colonoscopy last year and the proceedure itself is really easy. They gave me pills to clean everything out but Ive heard that a lot of people go for the liquid. Either way its all the same effect….kind of yucky. So, once that process is over with the rest is easy.
Im really happy you’re having this done. I wish that people over 50 (like me) would have this done. Its not all that pleasent…but its so worth it.
November 29, 2009 at 6:15 pm
Lasts 25 years I believe.
November 29, 2009 at 11:08 am
i had a procedure a number of years ago-a proctoscopy-dont know if this is similar to your procedure-it wasnt pleasant.Good Luck-Prayers as well.watch what you eat.as far as cranberry juice-too bad you dont live near Wisconsin-Cran-Bic Ale-Cranberry Lambic Ale.hopefully your condition was caught in time.i trust this to be the case.
November 29, 2009 at 11:12 am
Be aware, Davey Wavey, that there are many thousands of people eager to hear about the results but in a time of stress not willing to clutter your mailbox with needless repetions of what everyone is wishing: hopes for your good health and a treatment allowing for you to charge ahead with your trip to Australia.
So for everyone, accept our hopes for happy news.
November 29, 2009 at 11:43 am
Good luck, man!
I know, that everything will be just fine. Greetings from UK.
November 29, 2009 at 12:11 pm
Davey,
I’ll be praying for you all day, and especially tonight. I’ve had one of those colono… whatever, and the evening before it is very difficult; I hope you have a friend to stay overnight, some support will be very helpful.
Tomorrow will be a piece of cake. They give you a mild sedative that sends you up high into the stratosphere, and from which you will wake up and say: “Is is over already? No, just give me a little more, okay?” And you’ll cuddle back into a fetal position, until the handsome, beautiful eyes, sexy, man-nurse comes back and kicks you out of bed! Ironic, isn’t it?
Good luck, gorgeous, please keep us posted.
November 29, 2009 at 12:48 pm
