I just wanted to provide a very quick update regarding my colonoscopy yesterday and my ongoing health concerns.
The colonoscopy, though a bit more complicated than typical, went off without a major hitch. When I came off the sedation drugs, the doctor showed me some pictures of my “healthy colon.” I remember telling him that I was going to post them on Facebook. Even thinking about social networks under sedation
Here’s the exciting news: I am cancer-free! In fact, I’m happy to report that the cause of my symptoms was one of the better case scenarios. The doctors did a good job of preparing me for the worst – but my family (and my mom in particular) are all breathing a collective sigh of relief.
I need to thank you for your support and tremendous outpouring of notes that I’ve received over the last few weeks. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayer. I really appreciate it – and I am very grateful. Thank you.
I am eager to go back to thinking about less important things.
So, another chapter closed and another adventure comes to an end. On to the next!

It’s definitely exciting to know you’re cancer-free! The world needs more positive people like you!

Congratulations! I have been thinking about you daily but have been convinced from the start that Cancer just was not a possibility for you because there is a part of the law of attraction that says that disease can’t live and grow in a person who lives positively and sends out love to the world which u definitely do so while I am relieved u are ok I have been sure from the start that u would be ok simply because of who you are and how u live you are an inpiration to so many if you only knew…

Great news. Tell us more about the procedure; it might help some of us who are scared to have the test done.

I am very happy for you and i have been praying for you. What seems strange though is that you thanked everyone for their good thoughts and prayers but you have stated you are not a believer. I am not trying to convert you or to criticize or judge you.
Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs or not. I just think it strange that you would appreciate someone’s prayers in your behalf.
In any case I am very happy for you.

This is great to hear. Whatever was causing your symptoms, I hope it can be treated quickly and easily so you can focus on the learning and adventure that we love to share with you.

I had a feeling you were too young and healthy to have anything like colon cancer (you’re not obese and I bet you don’t eat a lot of red meat, not that those are the only causes, but…). I’m happy for you.

I am relieved that you are not a victim of the big “C”. It’s onward and upward now. Just make sure you post plenty of speedo pictures when you adventure down under.

So glad to hear that you are indeed healthy so you can continue to shake up our brainwashed beliefs. Keep up the good work. Big hug to you.

All I can say is that you lived the question and for now have lived into an answer. Your life’s quest for the real, the ultimate reality goes on.
You are blessed to be healthy (at least cancer-free) and we are blessed to have you as part of our community.

Congrats!! Hopefully, more men will become active in maintaining their health by going for check-ups but also by checking themselves (e.g. checking for lumps – testicular cancer). xx

WONDERFUL!!!!
So happy ur happy!!
December 7, 2009 at 2:36 am
I was about your age when I had the first test. At about fifty you should be checked out every four years. I think I had two before reaching that age. My grandfather died of colon cancer and the nurses that were with him considered him heroic, given the severity of the situation he made no fuss.
December 7, 2009 at 11:27 pm
nice to hear you are ok. i actually got online today just to see what had happened.
