National Coming Out Day: October 11, 2011.

It’s the month of OUTober, and that means National Coming Out Day is right around the corner.

In honor of the big day, I wanted to share a story from my time at university. Check out the video, via my second channel.

If you’re in the Rhode Island area, join Haley Star and I:

October 10, 2011 (National Coming Out Day Eve)
Johnson & Wales Providence Campus
1:00 PM

  1. hi my name is dustin and i just wanted to say i thank it is great what you and haley star do and you guys inspier me

    • I really don’t mean to offend haley if i’m wrong but i thought she was a woman?

Besides, im loving the chalking idea

    • Guys is a colloquialism for people. It doesn’t necessarily indicate the male gender; especially in plural situations.

  2. Where do we send the bail money to get these two out of jail? I can see the headline now: Notorious Providence drag queen and her personal trainer arrested……………

  3. Davey! “Join…I”?? You did say you went to University, right?

  4. If you are in the Rhode Island area, join Haley Star and me (not I.)

    • Ha Ha !!! I was gonna remind you before JB. And you had a Catholic education. hee hee.

But the important thing is to support our brothers and sisters who will come out this year.

  5. I would love to come out all the peope in my school, but I’m already out to my friends and my brother and sister, so I don’t want to scream in people’s faces “I’m gay” all day. Is there anything I can do to contribute to this holiday?!?

  6. One step ahead of you – planning has been going on for weeks at the University of Queensland, Australia. So if your interested we are meeting in the Great Court at the St. Lucia campus to have a picnic and discuss queer issues and what ever else you like. It will be fun relaxed atmosphere and we will be having the rainbow flag atop Forgan Smith – let all the people know!!!

  7. Thats really brave of you!! Cant wait for the vid!

  8. My Birthday is on October 11 :)

  9. You’re a VERY articulate and inspiring person, Davey, and I love hearing and reading your words. Hence, I am and will continue to be a big fan. You’ve helped me become a better person through your video and blog posts. (What could be more affirming of your efforts? Not much, I say.) I’d like to reciprocate. Unfortunately, it won’t be in your grand way (that talent I don’t possess), but in a rather mundane matter, English grammar. To wit: In your last sentence to this post you used the subject-form pronoun “I” instead of the object-form “me.” Because one would say “Join Haley” and one would say “Join me,” that holds when they are combined to form a compound object: “Join Haley and me.” I don’t mean to be a nit pit, just helpful. Please regard me that way. Thanks…and love ya!

  10. Some screw-ups are quite harmless and inoffensive (“I” versus “me”). The university’s screw-up was neither. I sure wouldn’t kick Davey out of bed for bad grammar! Keep up the good work, kiddo!

  11. Wow Davey. That is sad that they washed away what was put on the sidewalk.

You know that saying, It Gets Better? Has things really gotten better or are they just full of it?

  12. I’m with Rico. All my friends and few others already know. And I don’t want to be “good morning Alli I’m gay! (:”.

  13. im out of school-but will wear my Legalize Gay t-shirt on 11 October-ive been out for years-time to speak out and up.Gay bars in 20yrs will be a thing of the pastmarriage civil rights-ENDA-DOMA-will be passed and positively all life will be much much better.these are great times to be alive.thank those in the past generations-thank those 20-somethings-the future is bright-IT DOES GET BETTER.
