  1. i like your new haircut.

  2. I doin’t think it is going to be the end of the world, but I think mankind is going to make a drastic change in how we live our lives. Money has no meaning here, we should learn to use each others abilities and gain from that as one. I do believe there would be no wars or gread if we just learn to understand one another and respect that. It is no longer “He with the most toys wins!” I think it’s leading to something beautiful.

  3. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, is it I don’t know, maybe. Things getting a bit more crazier over each decade so maybe sooner or later. But hope not now I was this close of getting out of high school and actually explore around the world of what it actually is……Oh well hahhaha. If it happens then it happens.

  4. no, it isn’t.
There are more rich people on the planet than ever before. US is the obvious, but go check out what’s going on in Russia or China. I don’t even want to mention London… Way too many people become rich overnight and that money came from “somewhere”.
Remember the French revolution? The Russian revolution? People who lose their homes because of Wall Street greed won’t just take it on the chin. That’s my view at least.
End of the world? naaaa… End of the world as we know it? I sure hope so.

  5. Funny how the end of the world is never really the end of the world. Another crisis that fundamentally changes the world as we know it. *yawn* Somehow I think we’ll figure out a way to change things for the better and life will continue much as it always has.

I guess craziness is what you inevitably get if you watch CNN all day.

  6. No it’s not the end of the world. It’s just Capitalism going through it’s natural, inevitable cycle. Like a great rollercoaster, hang on to the rail and hope there’s no loose change in your pockets :)

  7. For you yankydoodles across the pond i suggest reading this link and in general the site – it has more clear uncontaminated journalism than of most out there – give it a shot and its free – ps i am in no way associated with this site, just praising damn good reporting and clear and more truthful journalism relative to the edited crap on most papers and CNN and CBS and….. – the article regarding is your vote safe….. by God you americans have some tough transformational times ahead as do we in europe – and NO it is not the end of the world but i sense amazing positive change with more even distribution of wealth and the house of cards of the illuminati of which Hank Paulson and the Federal Reserve (not federal and has no reserves it is a privately owned consortium of banks behind the scenes which run it)are Key parts and are grappling and losing their power and control that is a certainty.

    • Thank you for helpinmg us understand our own econimic caca.
It has always amazed me how little Americans know or care about either their government of those who really rule the US economy. How many really knew that the Fed was not really part of the Government? Well wake up People and find out.

To those who say they don’t bother with politics, I remind you that politics will bother you!

      Cheers and Be well,

  8. might be the end of A world but not THE world. And further more: The whole Cern thing is right next to me xD well it’s in switzerland too so i’ll get sucked in by the black hole first ^^
But the world will not end! URIELLA said it wouldn’t and I believe her because she is the most serious and professional person ever !!! And she is the ” Sprachrohr gottes” as she sais…
    xD naahh just kiddin
    she’s weird
you don’t even know her do you ? :P

    well uhm yea
    thy davey

  9. P.S : thx 4 addin the autor to “love is the new blog” =)

  10. Yeah if you listen and watch CNN. CNN is too political in their views. Aren’t news reporting agencies supposed to be biased? Not take or GIVE an opinion on something like when I watched it for a little today after the HOUSE voted down the Bail-Out.

I watched FOX News and they never gave an out right view on what was going on. Or I should say they acted straight down the middle of the line like they are supposed.

Instead of our government giving our Federal Dollars to these banks…why don’t they give the money back to the people.

These people will pay credit cards off, pay loans off, buy houses, maybe even invest the money or put it in the bank. Plus the government gets their 30% cut. The money would be going back into the ecomony instead of bailing the rich out.

    This is just my opinion.

    • Good Lord, you can’t be serious! Fox not biased? “Down the middle like they are supposed to”??? What are you putting in your fruit loops in the morning?

THERE IS NO UNBIASED NEWS IN THE U.S. MEDIA!

They are owned and operated by and for the corporations. Rupert Murdoch owns FOX and they say what he wants them to say.

  11. If you’re into the Karma thing, this is just the karmatic whiplash resulting from the prevailing concept on Wall Street that ‘greed is good.’

The lustfull motivations behind this financial orgy have given the economy the clap.

    • heh i like the karmatic whiplash comment :-) indeed what is apparent in todays world and consciousness of the planet is that everyones karma & group karma is being played out at ever increasing apparent speeds (even though in reality there is no time!) – every thought deed and action is recorded in the universe setting in motion events of the last few weeks – its payback time – at the end of the day we are in truth ONE so we are ALL in this together – going down the blame game route only keeps you hooked into the juice of the emotion of the drama unfolding – be the change, stand up for truth once you establish what that is for yourself and be an example to others – progressively collectively we shift the karmic whiplash into positive karma and facilitates divine virtues of integrity honesty and authenticity to permeate hearts and minds of our fellow human counterparts…..

    • Are you on LSD? You cant actually beleive that load of crap.

    • Well i guess my form of LSD is Truth so in a way yes i suppose….. you however seem lost on the LSD of illusion… whatever floats your boat

    • You sound like you have been spending too much time in Amsterdam contemplating your navel. The more I read prattle like yours, the more I think we should have let Hitler have you.

    • well, hitler is history. but if you are an
arabian looking guy go to an airport with a
ticking clock in your pocket. good old george
will send you to guantanamo. there you can
get an idea about hitler i guess.

for guys like you that treatment is ok!

    • now i´m a little bit horny ;-)

    • I could take care of that ;)

  12. No silly, the end of the world comes in 2012. This year just marks the beginning of the 4 years leading to the arrival of the antichrist.

  13. Not the end of the world…but the end of the way things may have been. We’re so accustomed to only reading about major historical events, when we actually experience one we freak out. Things will change financially and in other ways for the US…but we’ll endure…we’ll learn from it…we’ll grow…because we have HOPE.

  14. Well if you’re referring to the refusal of the bailout plan, then no it’s not the end of the world, but it’s the end of an economic cycle I believe.

    Thanx Mr.Bush!

  15. No, just the end of the American Dream as we know it, and the beginning of the American Nightmare. Vote Obama to wake america up! :P

    • Democrats and Republicans are both robbing us. Get real.

    • Obama is full of himself. He is really self centered and only wants to make himself look good. Of course you don’t believe that but not everybody can see clearly.

      We all have opinions right?

    • If Obama were as self-centered as you say, he would have stayed in the private sector and, given his credentials from Harvard Law, made mountains of money. He chose public service instead. You are carrying Republican water in a very leaky bucket.

    • He would stay in the private sector?? Why would he do that if he can TRY and become president and show off to the whole world? Everyone knows the president. He can make sure everyone sees what “Great” things he has done/can do. I’m pretty sure your bucket is empty….

    • The fact is, you have no substantive argument. The Republican record speaks for itself.

    • George Bush and the ‘good ole boys’ = $4 trillion increase in the National debt and still growing with absolutely NO way to fund any of it. John McCain supports these ideas? No wonder this country’s economic state is in the garbage dump. Much more Republican economics and this will be a third world country.

  16. I don’t think it is. I just think it’s time for change and rebuilding. Hopefully someone has the answer to help everyone.

  17. all easy opinions said by almost hippy types. u guys need to grow up, pull the crystal dildo out of your pretentious blowhard mouths and put the self help books down. f*****g idiots

  18. good thing u quit your job to put such prolific posts up like this one! Horray Where’s the Illusion!

  19. I would say you are the one that is not prolific, but Davey, you did say you left your job to work 14 hours to dedicate more time to your blog. I do find you have not done so, but I am sure that there will be 12 worshipers who think differently. And ps, the sky is not falling, it only affects the elderly who have retirement accounts and us working joes, not guys like you. Be well and lets see some thoughtful blog posts!

  20. No, it’s not the end of the world. The sun will still come up tomorrow. The banks will still be open tomorrow. My hope is that it will be the end of Congress as we know it. So now the markets both US and international go into free fall and who knows how much money will be lost on Main streets around the world. Maybe tomorrow, the people who voted against the bailout will realize what they have done. Those congressmen shouldn’t bother pointing fingers – if they voted no (for whatever reason), they are now responsible for the consequences we are now about to watch. Hold on to your hats, it’s gonna be a rough ride…

  21. i am so damn scared for the future of america right now…i really just wish people could see the damage thats been done as far as those who afford the money…

i’ve said this before, but i go to a really rich conservative all boys private school…no one is concerned at all and they think its either a lie or over-reaction…HOW SELFISH

just beacuse ur not having to make any sacrifices does not mean the majority of this country is not in dire need of assistance. how do i find a way to convince these people that its important to care?

  22. No No not the end of the world but it is kinda scary huh?

  23. Not the end of the world Davey… For the rich, this is Capitalism at its BEST. The gap of the rich and poor is increasingly widening. We are witnessing two wealth creation cycles being created… Housing and Equities. The people with money will gain a lot in the long run. For me, I just continue to go to work tomorrow and pay my taxes :-(

  24. People should be proud of Congress. Bush and Grand Overlord Cheney are trying to plug the problem till Jan. Than they can blame Obama. Bailouts dont work, neither will this plan. Let them go broke, because the recession will be twice as bad if we start printing money. Think they tried that in Zimbabwe!

  25. Why, Yes it is!!!!!!

  26. Here are some random thoughts about the worst of what we can expect…and what the next President will have to face:

    a) Collapse of the COMMERCIAL real estate market next. (Lots of shopping centers have been thrown up with leveraged money.)

    b) Credit Card defaults, causing more banks to go under. (People’s incomes are being stretched, between mortgage rates and gas) and they/we are charging a lot, and won’t be able to meet the payments.

    c) It will be a disastrous Christmas/HOliday shopping season, replete with layoffs, and huge but fruitless post Christmas sales. More businesses will falter.

    d) Unemployment will continue to rise. (See this coming Friday’s report.)

    d) Many more home foreclosures.

    e) Credit will become very very tight, even if Congress does pass this ‘bailout/rescue” bill.

What is different now, from the Great Depression of 1929/1030′s?

    1) Far more people own houses, and so are at mortgage default risk. And we had no Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with many many trillions of dollars leveraged beyond the ability to salvage.

    2) There were no credit cards then. Everyone has lots of them now.

    3) There was no war then. We have two going on now, draining billions. (The mounting cost for maintaining hundreds of thousands of damaged veterans will continue for 50 or 60 years.)

    4) The baby boomers are about to enter the Social Security and Medicare rolls

    5) We had a strong manufacturing base then. We don’t now.

    6) We have huge debts to other nations, and are running huge trade deficits (more money going out than coming in.)

    7) China and India are turning out hundreds of thousands more trained college grads in engineering, physics, math, etc….the keys to powerful futures.

    8) Oil rich nations are buying up this country one brewery and skyscraper and shopping mall at a time. (Of course, this gives them incentive to see that we don’t collapse completely!)

Hey…just some random thoughts. Have a great day, all.

  27. See? You should never have deleted your profiles. It left a trail of disaster on the stock markets!

  28. It could be the end of the world if the current financial crises causes Davey to get a real job! Just kidding! What is really going on is that we have a disfunctional congress. We need to clean house. We all need to vote and get rid of people like Nancy(phoney baloney) Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Rahm Emmanuel, Chris Dodd and anyone else that puts petty politics and political pandering ahead of the American people. Did anyone catch Pelosi’s anti Bush venom? As long as people like her are around our congress will accomplish nothing. Vote! Vote them out!

    • Hey Roger, why don’t we get rid of Republican presidents who do nothing but veto every piece of legislation that congress passes? Let’s put an intelligent president in office (read that as anyone except a Republican) and see what Congress can do.

    • Sounds like a communist plan to me. You probably think George Bush is against human rights. Well wait until Marxist Obama gets elected you’ll all be sorry. Your response is typical and groundless but is the brainwashing mantra of the left. 1) Republican presidents do not veto every piece of legislation that Congress passes….just the bills that are awful. 2) The intelligent president is a slap at Bush. You need to look up Kerry’s GPA and Bush’s GPA at Yale. Yes, there was a reason Kerry refused to release his transcripts while he was running for president againt Bush. 3) The stupid party is the party of self interest groups, the party that panders to lowest common denominator in society, the party that puts anything but this country first, the party that will fight for anything to get people to vote for them, the party that wants to turn this country over to internationalism and world government…yes the Democrat Party. Don’t drink the KoolAid! Vote them all out of office today!

  29. I hope it’s been said already…

This probably isn’t the end…it may just be the beginning…

    Ciao – J

  30. It’s not the end of the world we’re facing, it’s the end of the American empire.

Our country is wholly dependent upon the manufacturing power of foreign nations, the energy products of foreign nations and now, our banking and private industries are becoming owned by foreign nations.

The rich will be fine because they can afford to live above it, by paying for whatever goods and services these foreign nations will continue to offer, but for the 95% of Americans that live paycheck to paycheck, things will change dramatically from the world into which they were born.

Our collapse stems from greed and frankly, I think we’re reaping what we’ve sown in the last 40 years from the exploitation of ‘less evolved’ cultures.

  31. Its all a strategically planned chess move to move to ONE global bank owned by the people we do not see in the public eye – watch out for china is already accelerating pace to be the next superpower nation. They have mastered and brainwashed and enslaved their nation to serve the government – perfect for the regime and dictatorship they strive to impose on the rest of the world one country and bank at a time. Buy Gold and keep your cash under the mattress for now.

Most americans are also blissfully unaware that without a murmur of public protest on 24th september the house of Representatives passed a $612 Billion Defense authorisation Bill mostly to continue pursuing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan…… chilling thought and was barely reported on – those who are interested can google and probably find some information on it to check its validity…

  32. Davey, this isn’t the end of the world. Just the end of the world as we know it. We may be on the road to a collapse that will make the collapse of 1929 look like a slight bump in the road. Hopefully the recovery will bring a completely new economic era.

  33. ya know I think this correction is the best thing for all of us, the whole world. yeah it will suck for a few years but so many people dont get involved in politics when things are going good, and because of that rights are eroded and politicians are corrupted cuz noone is watching over them. This will definitely have a huge impact on the election through the sheer number of ppl that will show up at the polls. So what if foreign companies buy up american assets, if there werent so many free trade agreements the gov would be generating tons of money from import/export taxes and at the same time the taxes would create a demand for US goods in the US again all the while lessening the tax burden on the individual. With the influx of foreign co’s in the US free trade needs to be re-asessed in order to benefit US citizens. The federal (non)reserve needs to be re-asessed aswell, The US citizen would have no need to pay a dime in taxes from their income if congress hadn’t given the power to print and value currency to a private organization, I say that because the government could print all the money it ever needed for itself and we would all pay the tax through inflation instead of a payroll deduction just like things worked before the 1930′s. its still a tax of kinds but less invasive. We all have heard about wastefull spending in the government, but look how many Americans are wastefull. during a depression people are frugal out of necessity and that eventually gets reflected in the government that people elect, I’ll survive, You’ll survive, and we’ll all be stronger, smarter, and more capable in the end because of it, there is no denying that

  34. Yes. Well, it is the beginning of the end. The world will end on December 21, 2012. I don’t have an exact time yet but when I do I’ll let you know.
PS – I’m not buying anyone Christmas presents that year.

    • Does any one really think that the Earth gives a flying f**k about what the pesty species of humans do, or whether they go extinct or not? The Planet has done fine without us for billions of years, and will continue to do so after the last apocalypictic nincompoop breathes their last.

And to Leefer, who is turning into Scrooge for Christmas 2012, I invite you to dinner at our place on the 24th of December, 2012. We always love to have entertaining people join us on that occasion.

      Be well,

  35. May not be the end of the world but could be the start of a lot of suffering in the US and the rest of the world of the US govt doesn’t get its financial act together.

Businesses closing, unemployment, people homeless and starving, desperation, violence and panic…these are generally NOT GOOD THINGS. As one senior economist noted today: the US Congress has voted for recession.

It probably would have happened anyway – the only way out of the mess is to stop the concept of free homes for all, no money down and you can walk away later and leave the banks holding the bill. This whole mess is based on the panic that people will increasingly default on their mortgages, causing widespread credit default, with downstream losses for any group or company that was involved in providing financing.

Where did the money go? It went into providing homes for people who couldn’t afford them.

  36. The cable news networks have a knack for making things somewhat over-dramatic. They bring on a bunch of “experts” who are in the middle of emotional breakdowns because they won’t be able to afford that yacht now when they retire.

  37. you finally let your armpit hair grow

  38. Davey if you define world the way most Americans, citizens of the USA, do then yes it could be the end of the world or USA dominance.
I hope you know that the world is not only the USA but the whole globe. The rest of the globe will survive, I do not know about the USA.

  39. HAH????? WELL ONE THINGS 4SURE EVERYBODYS GOING BEZERK,ITS CRAZY::::::KEN77

  40. Yepp. It is the END of the world as we know it.
