Let’s hope you never have to live someone else’s life and can be content living your own with good friends and good times, and not really be forced into a life that’s not yours.

I think it would be more fulfilling to live your own life to the fullest.

Yes I have noticed that.I have quite a few Catholic friends and on more than one occasion I’ve heard them say things in reference to homosexuals. I often tell them that it is not their place to judge others and that they should just love others and accept their differences instead of condemning them or trying to change them. Sadly to say my words have little effect if any on my friends. My mother is a minister and even she can’t accept homosexuality. This has bothered me for years and it’s the reason why for so long I’ve hated myself and tried to change who I am. I’ve been going to church my entire life. Born and raised a Christian, and I’ve heard sermon after sermon preaching “The Evils of Homosexuality,” and for years I’ve prayed and asked God to help be to not be gay and for years I’ve noticed that I like boys even more now than ever! (I’m pretty sure that’s because I’m in college now though…) But nevertheless, I was etremely depressed until I saw Davey Wavey’s blog’s and visited the website (www.soulforce.com) . It helped me to see that there’s nothing wrong with me after all. I’m just different from other people but not in a bad way. It meant so much for me to hear this. Now I’m proud of who I am and I’m considering coming out to my parents. I just have to find the right time to do it I guess.

I think the best exercise for each of us is the exercise we are willing to do – not the amount someone else believes would be good for us. And I love that Davey didn’t make the old guy wrong, but allowed him to see the event differently. You Rock, Davey!

Matt-you are so right about your thoughts on the Bible.fundamentalists are twisting words in the Bible to fit their attacks on others different.this is not what the Bible is all about.have you noticed recently how the Catholic Church has been stepping up attacks-particularly on gay people?coincidence-i dont think so.DW-on the threadmill makes that analogy so well.worry about yourself-then you can worry about others.thats not being self-centred at all.

I concur with gnjen below (but no reply link so I replied here) A collection of posts would be awesome, and of course it couldn’t have all the answers. Reminds me of a book a friend wrote for me when I graduated from college back in ’79. The book was a collection of thoughts and ponderings with watercolor sketches. The title of the book was “I DON’T KNOW”: “. . . despite our faith, our certainty, our knowledge, we say “I don’t know.” It is human. It is life itself – for if we didn’t know, would we ever reach out in curiousity and discover. “I don’t know” is the song of myself, the song of a child still wondering . . .” Patches. Go for it Davey!

Ultimately, we will always be concerned with ourselves. While I do not necessarily believe that this is a good thing, it is in our human nature to be most concerned with ourselves.

In cases, such as this, it is really key to be simply concerned with yourself. There is no need to harass others for things that do not concern you. I do not believe in any such harassment, so why do we go out of our way to harass others?

Davey, I think it is amazing that you are using your personal experience to inform others on how we can better ourselves. Most people tend to sleep and become bored when these concepts are explained, but you inform others in new ways that we can easily relate to. Thanks so much for the advice!

Well basically, I think you’re pretty much the most AMAZING person I’ve never met. LoL! I’ve read some of your blogs and watched some of your videos and besides having a great sense of humor, you have some very open minded and uplifting ideas and concepts about life. I think that if more people were as open minded as you are there would be a lot more peace and love in the world.

P.S ~ I went to the soulfource website and I was very pleased with the contents! It’s good to know that there are people out there who don’t just want condem everone who isn’t exactly like them to Hell. Personally, I think the Bible should only be used as a tool to share God’s love and not as a weapon to hurt others. This website was very enlightening to me and I’m glad you mentioned it. Thank you, for all that you do, you’ve made me a happier, and probably a better person.
