I read something today that is so very true. Basically, it says that there are four things that seem comforting, but are actually deadly foes in the quest for “personal power” or enlightenment. They are:

“1. I’ve been victimized.

2. I’m entitled to more.

3. I’ll be rescued.

4. Someone else is to blame.”

I think it makes a lot of sense.

We can change the way we see the world. We can rise above fear, anger, or negativity. We do not have to give other people power over ourselves. We can see beauty where others do not, and love where there is hate. We can run our own emotions, and take responsibility for our feelings. We can stop reliving past experiences, and start changing the future. We can realize the infinite choices we face in each moment, and see the overwhelming beauty and love that permeates existence.

  1. David –
So beautifully put. I only wish the rest of the world could understand this basic fact that would help so many people work towards a happier existance and a happier interaction with their own souls.

Your blog is awesome, and it inspires me to read someone so far away who thinks about the same things that I do and addresses them so eloquently. :-)

  2. My problem is number 2

I will work on acknowledging that its my choice to be satisfied or not and to acknowledge that i can make anything out of what i have with me.

Things will come and go as they are supposed to, i suppose.. time to go with the flow of things!

  3. Thanks again Dave
