It’s really interesting to look at your hand, for example, and think of the many things that it once was. The elements and compounds in your hand have been many things. Maybe they were part of a dinosaur, a mountain, wheat growing in a field… who knows? Look at the dust under your bed. Perhaps some of it was once a majestic mansion or a legendary leader, king or queen.
Now look at your hand again. What will it become next? Many, many things. Perhaps your hand will someday be dust under someone else’s bed. This life we live is a quick one, and mother nature is quick to recycle. From dust we come and to dust we shall return.
Yet the life in you will never die. The physical stuff that makes up our bodies isn’t us. If anything, death will be a final learning experience for our minds. And then, the cycle will flow on.
So much time passed before you were born – and it didn’t trouble you. So much time will pass after you are gone – don’t let it worry you now. Once your life blips out, you’ll escape the world of time once more, and continue on your journey.
