home sweet home

The universe is always telling us things. But are we always listening?

Last night, the chapter of my book that I read was all about home. It said that if you have to opportunity to travel, by all means take advantage of it, but don’t forget about the people that raised you, fed you, clothed you and love you. Enjoy your journey but remember and honor your roots.

And lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the fun that Will and I had last summer – how we discovered so much about ourselves and each other and the universe by hanging out on the ocean and just being. It was great to step back from things. And in all honesty, I miss Willy a lot. And he’s probably reading this blog right now, so hey will.

That’s not to say I miss my family, too, and my other RI friends. And it’s probably the last time that my grandmother will recognize me since she’s progressing along at the end of her journey.

And I have a few boxes that I could put in my luggage to drop of in RI.

All in all, I have a lot of reasons to go to Rhode Island. So, I bought a ticket last night for June 7-10. It was last minute, but the universe was telling me to do it. It was a message that I heard loud and clear.

Interestingly, my coworker today walked in with a shirt that said Block Island. I think I’m going to make it a point to spend a day out on Block Island when I’m home. Another message.

Deepak Chopra always says there are no coincidences. Only messages waiting to be heard and understood.

Well, I’m listening.
