I’m getting ready for work as we speak – and I just happened to open my Everyday Wisdom book. The quote I read was:
Enlightenment is the quiet acceptance of what is.
It’s knowing that this moment is perfect and exactly as it should be – even if your mind tells you otherwise. It’s knowing that you can’t change this moment by not accepting it or struggling against it. It’s knowing that this moment is built upon every decision and every action you’ve ever made. It’s knowing that you’ve attracted this moment into your life. It’s knowing that you, and no one else, created this moment.
Practicing quiet acceptance of everything in your life – of your relationships, friends, situation, etc. – is the path to enlightenment. Things are what they are. If you want to change things in the future, create that change and be empowered - but know that this moment is perfect and unchangeable. What “will be” is changeable, but “what is” is unchangeable.
Surrender to what is completely.
