Late summer is beautiful in Rhode Island. Today was a perfect, cool day to grab some clamcakes and chowder and sit by the water. Mike and I went to “Aunt Carrie’s” as it is called, which closes today for the winter.
I’m about this close to being attached to summer. Something about the leaves turning and falling makes my heart heavy. It’s not because I don’t like winter – but it’s because I love laying out in the sun, going to the beach, wearing shorts, and just about everything else related to the summer.
But it’s the winter that makes summer so special. If it wasn’t for the cold, dark days of winter, I wouldn’t enjoy the summer as much.
Anyway, it’s a beautiful day in Rhode Island. And I bet it’s a beautiful day wherever you are, too.

RI late summer is the best! I especially love hitting up the Polo matches in Newport or taking the ferry to Block Island – have you done any of that??

Absolutely jealous of the clam cakes and chowda’. I remember going to Georges of Galilee (http://georgesofgalilee.com/) for the same thing. Yum!
