Today’s reading in Wisdom of the Ages was all about living in the moment. The quote was Omar Khayyam and was some thousand years old. Using a modern analogy the present day author uses the metaphor of a boat traveling across a bay. The wake that the boat creates does not drive it; the boat is powered by the engine. It’s an illusion to think that our past shortcomings or mistakes are shaping our future.
Similarly, the past doesn’t power our present. Our mind and emotions – like our body – can heal after being hurt.
In every moment, you are free to detach yourself from what you used to be.
