Friends,
In these situations, I’ve found it is helpful to follow Davey on Twitter with a text link to your cell phone.
I still didn’t get to watch all of it because of other commitments but I did know about it beforehand.
many of us don’t have extra pocket gadgets or go in to all the social sites so it would be nice to be notified in advance if something great is going to be happening later in the day.
If you are going to post on the main page of your website any event that needs to be viewed live because of the nature of the event, e.g. a live upstream, then you have to give more than one-two hours notice.
There are many of us that are in a different time zone to yourself…very different. Even with regular checking of your main page, and email notifications of your posts, by the time I work out when you are live in my time zone I find the event is already underway or over and done with.
You should basically allow for at least 3-5 hours between posts, notifications, tweets etc., and the event. Otherwise you’re only attracting a fraction of the viewers, followers, campers and stalkers.
Yours sincerely,
Dave

The feedburner alerts are always a day behind. You’ve gotta check the main page of his blog every day if you wanna be alert.

The usual by the time i get the e-mail, the event is toast. If it is so last minute it may not be an event after all.
